**IMPORTANT: SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR 11/12 Graders for ACT**
ACT for 11th Graders
The ACT will be administered at MC2 STEM High School on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 to 11th grade students during the regular school day at no cost to you. No registration is required by you or your student.
The ACT test scores will provide you with information about your student’s progress toward college readiness and is widely used by colleges in making decisions about admission.
Schedule Changes during ACT Administration
Schedule modifications will be made that impact all 11th grade students. All 11th grade students must arrive at school no later than 8:30 AM on Tuesday, February 27tth as the test will begin promptly at 9 AM. Students who arrive late will not be permitted to take the test. Students will be dismissed at 12:30 after the test.
What Not to Bring on Test Day
Any electronic device, other than a permitted calculator (this includes your mobile phone, smart watch, fitness band, media player, iPad, headphones, and camera)
Food or beverages, including water (you will be offered a break outside of the test room)
If it is imperative that your son/daughter travel with these items please be aware that all phones and electronics will be confiscated for the duration of the test. Students will receive their items back after each day’s testing is complete.
ACT Schedule Modification for 12th Graders
SENIORS may be excused from school for community service to work towards their 60 required hours, parents may sign the community service excusal form attached. Because students are still required to meet an attendance requirement, students must follow reporting procedures as indicated on the attached community service form. If your 12th grade student does not obtain a community service opportunity for Tuesday, February 27th, they will report to school and work on their senior portfolio and mastery recovery work. All 11th and 12th grade students will be dismissed at 12:20pm for test security purposes.
What is Parent University?
Parent University is an opportunity for parents/ caregivers to sharpen skills as their children matriculate through CMSD.
Parent University will provide parent/ caregivers with information about their vital responsibility in shaping their children's lives.
Sessions will focus on child development, what children are learning in schools, advocacy, parent leadership and effective parenting skills.

Children's activities for ages 5 and above are provided.
