OUR MISSION:  INNOVATING EDUCATION TO ENGAGE & ENRICH STUDENTS

Freshmen at the Foundry This Week

As part of the ongoing Architecture and Athletics Capstone, students will have the exciting opportunity to

complete 1 week of experiential learning at The Foundry Rowing Club. Not only will students get to experience a new level of physical education, but the benefits that rowing & sailing provide are limitless. From ecology & water education, to dietary & wellness practices, these sports allow for us to transform the youth of today into the leaders of tomorrow. As a reminder, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday Freshmen will report directly to the Foundry Rowing Club. The easiest access to the Foundry is for students to take the Red line to the West 25th-Ohio City station, walk down Abbey Rd to Columbus Rd, cross the river, and the Foundry is on the right. Address: 1831 Columbus Rd, Cleveland, OH 44113

Sophomore Sign-Up Season

The fourth quarter for sophomores offers the exciting opportunity to learn on the job! Sophomores are encouraged to sign-up for internship opportunities and work with our internship coordinator, Ms. Thomason, to find the right job for them! This week, several interested students will interview for the MAGNET ECEC program (round 1 interviews on Monday, round 2 on Friday), but there are many opportunities for students to experience internships throughout this quarter. New jobs are sent out through Naviance each week, but in case you missed them, I attached the job descriptions to this email. Please email Ms. Thomason for more info about the following positions:

  • IT, MC2 Student Intern, Center for Educational Technologies, Cleveland State University

  • Leadership and Civic Engagement Internship, LookUp Cleveland

  • Medical Internship, CHAMPS 360

  • Art Museum Internship, Teen Co-Op

  • CMSD Summer Jobs

  • Attorney Generals Internship, Teen Ambassador Board

  • Environmental Science Internship

Junior Jumpstart

The transition has begun for juniors. At this time, all juniors should be working with teachers and counselors to get up to date on where they stand on mastery and what they need to do next. Several Fundraising opportunities are coming up as well. Please check your Naviance accounts and be prepared for more information after May 24th.

Senioritis!

We are truly in the final stretch. Senior parents, please stay on top of your students! They are receiving daily updates on their status. They are expected to attend all classes! An incomplete grade indicates that some limited portion of the coursework remains unfinished and must be completed. It is the student’s responsibility to finish any incomplete grades by FRIDAY, MAY 18th, 2018. If you do not complete your missing coursework on or before the highlighted date above, you WILL NOT GRADUATE with your class on June 3rd, 2018. Incomplete coursework can still be finished online using the links attached to the courses below. In addition to coursework from previous school years. Jonathan must also complete the coursework he/she is currently enrolled in. The following courses must be completed by 4pm on THURSDAY, MAY 31ST, 2018 in order to graduate with your class on June 3rd, 2018. For additional help, please see Ms. Gordon or Ms. Howard.  Students who fail to meet any of the above requirements will not graduate.
